Using Grow without an account

You can use Grow to:

• Explore crops and livestock
• Get farming recommendations
• Check the weather
• Read farming guides
• Plan farming activities

without signing in.

If you save places or your water preference, those details are stored in your browser so Grow can remember them when you return. They are not connected to your name or an account.

You can remove them by clearing your browser data, or with the “Forget all” option in Grow.

Your location

Grow needs your location to provide location-based information such as crop recommendations and weather.

We use your location to provide the service, and do not use it to create a personal profile when you are using Grow without an account.

Location information used for climate data is also handled at a broader level rather than being stored as an exact farm location.

If you create an account

An account is optional. If you create one, Grow may store:

• Your email address
• Your name, if you provide it
• Your saved farms
• Season plans
• Farm records
• Calendar activities
• Community posts
• Information you choose to save

Your password is stored securely and cannot be read by us.

Community

Anything you post in the Grow community is public. Please do not post information that you would not want other people to see.

Photos and the assistant

If you upload a photograph to ask about a crop or livestock problem, the photograph is sent to the service we use to process it.

Questions asked through the assistant are also sent to our provider so that it can generate a response.

Please avoid sharing personal or confidential information that is not necessary for your question.

Analytics and advertising

Grow does not run advertising.

We do not use your information to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell it to advertisers.

Services Grow uses

Grow relies on external services for things such as:

• Weather
• Climate information
• Soil information
• Maps and places
• Image processing
• Assistance with your questions
• Hosting

These services may receive the information necessary to provide their respective functions. The organisations behind them are named on the About page.

How long we keep information

Information stored on your device remains there until you remove it.

Account information is kept while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and the information associated with it.

Some information, such as general weather and climate data, is not connected to an individual and may remain in our systems as part of providing the service.

Your rights

You can contact us to:

• Ask what personal information we hold
• Request a correction
• Request deletion of your account and personal information
• Ask questions about how your information is used

No online service can guarantee perfect security. We keep the amount of personal information Grow needs as small as possible.

Grow is intended for people involved in farming and is not directed at children.
